I'm a wildlife and nature photographer based in Leicestershire, UK. Although I enjoy photographing birds and other wildlife, my main passion is macro photography, of insects in particular.

Please also visit my main website Matt Cole Wildlife Photography and also my wildlife photography blog, both of which have an emphasis on macro photography. I'm also on Facebook.

Many macro images will be taken with a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens, capable of between 1:1 and 5:1 magnification. The other macro images will be taken with a Sigma 150mm macro lens or a Canon 60mm macro lens. Bird and mammal images are typically taken with a Canon 400mm f5.6 L lens. I currently use Canon 7D and 60D camera bodies.

I am always happy to provide information as to how I took an image, camera settings, flash set-up etc. If anyone would like to know this information for a particular image please leave a comment below the image and I will reply to it.

For detailed hints and tips on insect macro photography please see this article from my blog.
