(NB: May 2012. To anyone who followed my Flickr in the past, I apologize for disappearing. I've had a lot of internet and computer problems in the last year, and have been busy with school.)
I recently upgraded to a D7000 with all new gear and glass. Prior to this, I shot with an Olympus E-410. Though I have a massive backlog of photos to get through, I decided to update with pictures taken with my new D7000.
I am an Entomology major at the University of California, Davis, my interests in biology include ecology and organismal biology, specifically lepidoptera (butterlies). I do work with local butterfly populations and hike recreationally. Wherever I go, I try to capture what I can of local biodiversity. The goal of my photography is to come as close as possible to creating an accurate representation of the subject matter at the time the picture was taken. If you can ID any of the plants or animals that I am unable to, or notice a misidentification, I would be grateful if you brought it to my attention so that I can fix it.
The butterfly website of Art Shapiro, PhD, of the University of Davis, California, has been of great assistance to me while familiarizing myself with the local butterfly populations. His page can be found here: butterfly.ucdavis.edu/
