Just came back to Flickr after a long spell. Enjoying the absence of bots & spam...just photography! I wiped out my history to feature a project I've been working on the last three years - faux butterflies created in camera via long-expo, light-painting & reflection. I love light-painting in general and all kinds of long-expo and abstract photography. I also like black and white, aerial, motion blur, seascapes, ad nauseam. Thank you for taking the time to check out my work - much appreciated!
tl;dr:
Butterflights is photo series I created a few years ago while testing some new long-exposure light painting ideas. I was looking to find something that worked the theme and variation concept, didn’t require traveling to a location & could be performed inside any time of day (with proper light masking) or night so weather wasn’t an issue. This made it convenient and easy to dive into over time. It turned out to be a bottomless rabbit hole and I made more than a thousand. More at butterflights.com.
