I am a keen photographer and enjoy the great outdoors. I like my photos to portray the 'feeling' of a place and not just the typical tourist shots.

I am the Programme Secretary of a local camera club and for my sins I 'volunteered' to become a photographic judge 6 years ago! I thoroughly enjoy judging and get the opportunity to see lots of different styles and meet many like minded individuals.

Currently, I am trying to take my photography forward and am entering several national exhibitions and am having differing degrees of success! I have not yet worked out exactly what exhibition judges are looking for but I don't want to go down the route of doing pictures for them and not for me. I find my most satisfying images are those that tell a story about a place or give a sense of how I was feeling at the time of taking.

I enjoy travel to Europe & the USA. I especially like Italy, the culture and food are the best within Europe. I am also hooked on the National Parks of the western USA and I like nothing better than putting on my walking boots and going into the canyons and deserts. I just wish I was fit enough to complete the rim to rim walk of the Grand Canyon!

I also enjoy walking holidays in the UK although I admit that I find the UK climate rather wet and lacking in sunshine! I love the sun and so my overseas holidays are the the warmer climates of the world. Despite all the active walking and photography I do enjoy the odd day or two just relaxing on a sun lounger reading a good book and partaking of a nice cold beer.
