I was born in Baltimore, Maryland and spent most of my life living in towns northwest of that city. I spent more than 33 years as an Air Traffic Controller, working at Philadelphia Tower, Reagan National Tower, Baltimore/Washington Tower and Phoenix Tower. Though retired from the FAA, I now work full time for a contractor on a program for the FAA.

I married my wife in 1981 and we are still together after all this time. We have two sons who both followed in my professional footsteps to be Air Traffic Controllers. My grandchildren are the lights of my life.

My interest in birds started when I was in the 4th grade at about the age of 10. Since that time, birding has been my number one passion in life. Photography, especially bird photography, has been a natural offshoot of the birding hobby. Not only to document some of my sightings but to also take and share images some of the birds that I have seen in my lifetime in the hopes that others might share my enjoyment. Bird photography naturally expanded to include images of all things in the outdoors - Landscapes, Flowers, Dragonflies, Butterflies, Mammals, and interesting insects.
