This photostream collects images from two courses focused around themes of collaboration and community-engagement: the Screenprint + Social Spaces course taught at Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the Residential Research Studio Course taught through the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

In Screenprint + Social Spaces, students design site-specific minizines, alter found/purchased materials and return them to their original contexts, wear garments intended to operate as more than just garments, and generally consider silkscreened multiples as an artistic medium for audiences outside the context of an art school or gallery.

Research Studio is a course for freshman art students at SAIC that teaches creative research methods toward the development of art and design practice. The Residential College section of the course is taught in the student dormitories, and adds a focus on community engagement as well as combining art practice with eating/sleeping/working/living in the city.
