I am a retired railway signalman having worked in signalboxes for 45 years. My main interests are transport in general but railways and SAAB cars in particular. I also like photography, cooking and travelling. My sports interests are Motor Sport, and Ice Hockey (Toronto Maple Leafs).

My first camera like most people was a Box Brownie which was followed by a Ensign Selfix 820. Colour photography used a Halina, Yashica and, then various Canon cameras to a EOS 300 which I still own and stopped using in spring 2009 when I took my last colour slides. My first digital camera was a Canon S70 followed by a Canon SX10IS which replaced the EOS300 and has now been replaced with a Canon EOS, I retired the S70 early in 2018 and now use a smart phone for those times when you can't or don't want to carry all your gear around with you.

If you are a fan of my photostream and want to keep an eye on what I'm posting please make me a contact, I hope that you don't mind if I don't always reciprocate as I like to keep my contact list to a size that is manageable.

All the photographs on my pages have been taken by me (with a few exeptions which are clearly captioned) please respect my copyright and if you want to use any of my pictures in books or other websites please ask first as I very rarely refuse.
