Amongst other things I wrote the four "Little Books of..."
Misericords / Gargoyles / The Green man / Stained Glass
for Aurum Press of London
I'm deeply interested in church architecture, particularly the imagery within.
I have a website www.mikeharding.co.uk that has many images of the Green Man. I'll bring those across to Flickr as time allows
I'm currently working on four "Little Books of..." on Angels / Tombs and Monuments / Myths and Legends / Devils and Demons. I'm having most trouble sourcing church images of devils and demons - any help would be appreciated.

I first came across Mike's photography in his excellent book "Walking the Dales" and was thoroughly envious. When I discovered that his interest extended to church carvings, and especially to Green Men, I contacted him, and we have been exchanging pictures ever since. The attention to detail, and care taken over his church shots, is unmatched, in my opinion. I greatly look forward to his new set of Little Books to add to my collection!

It was both a surprise and delight to come across Mike Harding’s work here on Flickr. I’d cherished his little book on Misericords for some considerable time. In fact I can honestly say this particular book inspired me to seek out church woodwork and fittings with renewed enthusiasm, so imagine my excitement when Mike began to post work shoulder to shoulder with the many other enthusiasts here. Mike’s work is full of visual variety; his photographs are often of fascinating details and curiosities that abound in churches throughout our land. He brings to his visual work a wealth of anecdotal and historical knowledge, that can only come about by a deep love of his subject. I’m sure many of us here are heartily glad his work is now a visible part of this community.
