I am of the opinion that there are too many meaningless comments on Flickr. Too many people giving 'gold stars' and other tacky awards to empty, lifeless photographs. It seems to me that there is a need for approval; we shamelessly promote ourselves by spamming anyone and everyone with shallow, fake comments of praise in the hope that they return the 'favour'. So I want to make you a deal: I won't insult your images if you don't insult mine. If you genuinely like an image, let me know. If you don't, I understand, but have the decency to let me know why. I do not kid myself that I am a fantastic photographer, I don't think there are many people who are, so I want to know where I can better myself, and your opinion matters.
We have an excellent opportunity here to invoke improvements in each others work, so lets take advantage of it and engage in lively, constructive debate over the merits of our images and maybe one day, if we are lucky, we might take a good photo or two.
