Former Michigander. Colorado convert. I married a Kentuckian so we resolved the issue of which side of the Mason-Dixon line to call home by moving west into neutral territory.
I spend my days hiking, biking, and generally doing what's expected of a Coloradan throughout the summer. In the winter I mope, because I can't quite bring myself to become as enthusiastic about knee-destroying and neck-breaking winter sports as the rest of the Colorado population, and the trails are too deep with snow to get very far without sinking up to your waist.
Colorado has been an amateur photographer's dream come true thus far. The weather is usually perfect or close to it, and I've rarely had to put away my camera on account of rain. There is a severe shortage of seascape and tropical flora, but that's why we're saving up to visit Hawaii. At the current rate of savings we are likely to embark on our Hawaii vacation in the year Three Thousand and Fourteen.
Our favorite haunts are Jefferson County Open Space parks, anywhere we can find dinosaurs, and wherever wildlife is at the time.
