I am from the Pacific Northwest, in washington State, U.S.A., where I am completely surrounded by the most awesome scenery in the world. Mountains, oceans, rain forests and everything in between. I love the outdoors, and a couple of years ago my husband and I took our first "Extended" vacation. A 4 month trip to Alaska. I bought a new camera to go...an Olympus Evolt 500 and I fell in love with photography. Until then, I used 35mm and of course, always had to wait for the results...hoping I had captured what I had set out to do...sometimes being very disappointed, but unable to change the results.

Digital was AWESOME. To be able to take 200 pictures in one shot, come home and load them into the computer was the biggest KICK ever.

I am a complete amature, but I love to take pictures. Mostly nature, not so much people, but I am blessed with Grandkids that , of course, as a typical Gramma,......well......you know the rest of that story :-D

I love Flickr...what a great site...what a fun place to be. I am so excited about meeting people from all over the world, and seeing so many talented, amazing artists. I am humbled by what I see.

I hope to continue to be able to post photos and to explore the world through everyone elses eyes.

Thanks everyone. This is an exciting place to be.

Marcy, I am not the best at putting thoughts into written format, BUT, I have to jot a few things down on your behalf! I am so grateful for bumping into you on line. Names aside...we have some very similar tastes. (Exceot those dang mushrooms you like! Yuck!) The love of the outdoors and tha apparent respect for it. You document Northwestern U.S. so wonderfully! I yearn to get back to Seattle and the Pacific because of your shots! You say you're not strong on people pics, your grandkid pics are treasures! Capturing emotion is the hardest thing and your photos seethe with it! I have a theory that if the person taking the shot has HEART...it comes out in there shots. Everyone can see it in yours! Thank you for allowing me into your circle, I am honored! I look forward to continuing our growth as photogs! I look forward to checking in on my newfound"cousins" on the west coast! Hopefully not in the distant future either! HA! Marcy, I am better for getting to know you... Dan
