Howdy,
I've always been interested in the world of images (both still and moving): visualising, creating, capturing, rendering and manipulating. I'm interested in texture, form, composition, colour and (possibly most of all) lighting. My interests in these topics span across the distinct but related disciplines of Photography, Drawing, Painting, CGI, Cinematography, Animation, Compositing, Rendering etc. In other words, anything related to the art of image creation and I'm interested!
I've been taking photos since 1975, when I was given my first camera as a gift: a pseudo twin lens reflex that used 620/120 film. A lovely camera but limited in that it had a fixed aperture, shutter speed and focus. After about 10 years of dabbling in the fad film formats of the time (110 and APS), in 1985 I was finally in a position to buy the camera type that I had always wanted. A 35mm single lens reflex (SLR) camera which would afford me full creative control: Enter the Olympus OM-10. Since then, I've been upgrading every decade or so and made the inevitable switch to digital in 2005. Still clicking away to this day and loving it.
When time permits, I also create the odd piece of artwork. Not nearly as regular as I would like though. I just don't have the time to devote to all my interests. More's the pity.
