I grew up in England and moved to Canada when I was 14. I finished high school in Victoria, and haven't looked back. As well as Victoria I've lived in Iqaluit, Ottawa, back to Victoria, then Vancouver, Deep River (Ontario) and lastly Kincardine on Lake Huron. I hope to be here for a while.
For 5 years I lived in Iqaluit (Frobisher Bay when I lived there) and it was during this time that I had the means to travel. I have been to places including, but not limited to, Africa, Australia and New Zealand, and with all the beauty I found in the world I started to develop a keen interest in photography. Now I love it!
I've taken photos in so many places, unfortunately, having a minolta back then, all my shots are in print. Having said that though, I may start scanning some of my favorites and posting them as I have time. I didn't buy my digital Nikon D100 (although now I have a D300) until I moved to Deep River, which is why my online photos are restricted to Victoria, BC (my visits home), and Ontario.
I've done a lot of browsing on the Flickr site and I am really impressed with what I've seen. There is amazing talent out there, and It has opened my eyes and inspired me in ways I didn't think possible. As flickr does inspires me to take better photos, I will continue to post them (although not as many) for the benefit of my family and friends, and anyone else who enjoys my work. Please note though, due to my busy schedule and events in my life at this time, I no longer have the luxury of being able to comment on your photos. If you were thinking of adding me as a contact, but now choose not to, I fully respect that.
You obviously enjoy photography because you are here at flickr, so enjoy the journey as I have, and will continue to, and watch yourself grow in leaps and bounds. All the best to everyone, and don't forget to follow your dreams..

Janette you are one of the persons and personalities giving "life" in the Flickr community and worth remaining here. I appreciate your visits and words a lot...let's say I'm waiting for. On the other side a common hobby of us both made possible this "meetup" - I'm adoring your photos and I remember the "Commomn Grackle" I commented first in your stream. Since this time I'm trying to catch each of your photos. There is a great bandwith in your stream and each pic is a jewel. The sunsets at Lake Huron, the feeder shots with Blue jays, your winter photos, the b&w's, the countryside....a.s.o. are all masterpieces in photography and a document of your great "eyes". You are an inspiration for me...keep going on with this (((HUGS))) & Love Woija PS: Did write you're looking sooo beautiful ???
