I have been fascinated by visual wonders of this world since I can remember myself.

Images of water, waves, wind and sun fill my visual memories...and, also, people

I studied visual arts in a prestigious art school in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Later on ended up in NYC and pursued photography and sculpture at Pratt institute.

After graduation worked in commercial photography, mostly stills and large sets.

View camera was my primary tool. I love the occasion of taking a photograph, deliberate, premeditated and considered..

People act differently in front of a view camera, they pose, pay attention, express themselves in measured ways... Yet, the moment is still everything.

By standing next to the camera, I am able to take in the scene without looking through the peep hole, I am able to see the actual moment of the photograph being born...

That intimacy is missing in mirrored cameras. The exact moment is blank dark frame.

Anyway, I can adjust.

I have finally set up my own studio, not for commercial work, but my own exploration. I feel I don't have to be beholden to no one that way. I am free to follow the trail of inspiration wherever it leads. I had a few shows and participated in group events, and I should explore that further, but time is limited right now, so I have to divide my energies carefully.

I hope you enjoy my Flickr page and come back to check in once in a while. Ultimately, I create for you, for your enjoyment and discovery.
