Since escaping the financial industry through early retirement, I decided to have a go at making some money from photography which has been a passion/hobby of mine since the mid-70s. Yes, I even developed and printed my own B&W prints

Digital has rekindled my love of photography and while I was not really in favour of image manipulation, I now love it as long as it is subtle and well done

I'm focussing on weddings and portraits at the moment but still love getting out for some landscape shots.

Since I created my own permanent studio at home, I've found portraits to be the thing I really love - especially younger children - its the eyes - always the eyes.

I could certainly push the marketing side a bit more but my 'pension' covers the bills and so I can be selective and very price competitive.

I'd hate to do a wedding every week because then it would become just a job - I like to feel an integral part of a clients wedding and hopefully that injects some fun into the proceedings. I'd love to achieve 12 - 15 weddings a year and 4 portrait sessions a week - not unrealistic goals, I hope.

At the moment I'm giving clients unprotected images on disc but I may need to re-think that.
