I started my career in metals by attending a two year welding program in Milwaukee Wisconsin. After touring factories and realizing I did not want to stick weld half inch plates all day, I moved to Oakland CA to search for more artistic jobs. I found them and worked in a foundry and a smithy until I returned to get a bachelors in printmaking. After graduating I longed to return to Africa, (I volunteered there while in school)and joined Peace Corps. A lot of my work in influenced by the indelible mark this wonderful continent has made on me. With a desire to return to metals after a 5 year hiatus I started making jewelry.

Currently I am living and working in Berkeley California. Many days are spent in my cozy studio working on new work in metal and in wood for printmaking.
