Transgender gal near 50, married with a passel of kids and a pretty supportive wife that I love to bits :)
I've known I was some flavour of trans since I was 13 and was glad of online communities in the 90s.
The measures of transition back then were a bit ridiculous. The COGIATI was ridiculously sexist and the Benjamin scale had strange categorizations. Turns out they were not the best indicators of transition.
I started HRT on 7/7/18 after decades of answering the question, "Am I trans enough?" with "Sadly, no" (but coming close in 1997). Few regrets, though - I wouldn't have a few things I really wanted, like being married with children, otherwise.
Came out at work on 10/25/19 to a lot more surprise and good reactions than I ever thought possible.
Changed my name the next summer because apparently, people in public just could NOT fathom my old name was my name and I was starting to get a bit of a complex about it!
I'm an extremely nerdy girl (even about makeup - lol) - I like games, science, foreign languages, gardening, coding, travel (well, in the pre-kid era!), science fiction and fantasy, puns and critical thinking.
I really wish I knew how to do things with hair. I tried braiding for the first time and it was kind of a disaster. Updos, same thing. Must learn more somehow :)
