"A myth, after all, is not necessarily a fiction or a fact. It's an imaginative and evocative retelling of a world that may have existed once, may exist in the future, or may be all around us today." (Aaron Betsky)

Capturing a scene with your camera always involves making choices (what and how to frame, shutterspeed, point of view etc.). As such a photo is never a neutral representation of reality but always a construction based on the perception and creativity of the one who takes the shot. Photography for me is a way in which to investigate that which is in a highly personal way, based upon my own interests, fascinations and ideas and constructing from this raw material highly personal 'myths' which give me leads to follow in my other (architectural) works.

Here's a list of some of the artists which inspire me at the moment:

- Robert Ryman (whiteness/monochrome)

- Ad Reinhardt (blackness/monochrome)

- Edward Hopper (emptiness/nightscenes)

- Richard Serra (materials/aging/tectonics)

- Lucien Herve (light&shadow/tectonics)

- Walter Niedermayr (whiteness/color)

- Kevin Cooley (emptiness/nightscenes)
