Since I was a child I have been passionate about meteorology.

 

Over the years I have expanded my passion to other related sciences such as climatology/microclimatology and the ethology of wild plants (especially trees).

A more complete form of love for Nature.

 

I approached photography in 2002 with the arrival of the digital on the market. I had already photographed in analog, but the cost of the film and its development had put me off.

 

Initially, my photography was exclusively documentary-didactic and I used it as a compendium of the data that I collect from my weather station in Trieste-San Giovanni (since 1985) and in relation to the whole area I follow and which extends from the Eastern Dolomites to the Northern Dinaric Alps, in 3 neighboring European countries (Italy, Slovenia and Croatia), around my hometown, where I live and work, that is Trieste.

 

The pleasure of composing the image, looking for the best light and glimpses has occurred over the years in a natural way, but I preserve the didactic and documentary aspect of my photos and also for this I use a (good) single-lens superzoom prosumer rather of reflex cameras that have much more quality, but are too fragile and complex for my use, shooting (like few) even in the thunderstorms and snowstorms.

The only wide range lens, although less bright and detailed than the single reflex lenses, helps me a lot to keep the documentary cut of my photos intact by looking for the most interesting weather conditions for an enthusiast.
