Hey everyone

Well, I was born in 1981 in a small town in Portugal, Caldas Da Rainha. I moved to Oshawa, Ontario, Canada in 1988 and since then have grown up here.

I fell in love with the camera (behind it not in front) when I was in my senior year of high school, and the rest is history. I started photographing everything I could, made my own dark room in the basement and now of course I shoot mainly digital. For anyone interested I have been published in a "best of" anthology known as the Photography Laureates. Google it and type my name in, check out, order a book if you want, it's a beautiful collection of pro's and amateurs.

I went to Durham College here in Oshawa and studied journalism where I learned some more about photography, especially some tips on how to photograph people. Thanks to Al Fournier! After graduating I tried the workforce, but found myself not enjoying it as much as I did in college. I left the journalism field and started drilling. Bipolar, I know. I got married to my high school sweetheart, Rebecca Duncan, and now have two beautiful girls as you can see in my photo stream, Annabella and Avagail.

Throughout all of this "life" happening I lost touch with the camera and it was kind of sad. Then, we moved to Canmore Alberta and I took the old girl out and started shooting the majestic Rocky Mountains. I cannot explain nor capture its full beauty on camera. I recommend you all go and experience the Bow Valley for yourselves.

I have since then moved back to Oshawa, bought a house and settled down. The camera still goes out with me when I hike and snowshoe. I began racing Duathlons and road races of that nature and am currently training for a half Ironman so hopefully all goes well.

I realize now that I am older that time is not something we can stop or turn back. Or can't we? A camera does just that, freezes time and when we look at our shots we can go back in time and think about the day we took that picture. It's a great feeling and the camera is the only way to achieve it.
