Hi,

Photography started for me back when I was in high school. A trusty old disposable camera that I took along to work experience to help me capture my time working at the airport. I loved laying on the ground, bending around corners and just having fun with the kodak disposable.

Not really able to be very creative with it, I only upgraded to a better camera just before I went around the world with a couple of mates.

A fujifilm 5500, the point and shoot was my first digital camera, and I thought it was my world. Being able to now use a bit of creative flare so to speak, my interest in photography was quickly starting to increase, and dramatically.

It was came to a point where I didn't let my camera leave my side, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to capture a moment, or a scene that sometimes only appears for a second.

It wasn't until I returned home to Australia, that I finally upgraded to my first DSLR, a Canon 30D. This 8MP beast (at the time) was my new best friend. Now my creative side could really get going and this only fuelled my love for photography even more. Now being able to shoot full manual, the whole world opened up. Circular Polarises, ND grad filters, flashes, gels, it was all coming together, and I really started to explore it.

I have started to lean my interest and focus towards landscape photography, and now having upgraded to a full-frame 5d Mark II, I am able to just expand that creative ability that little but further. My 30D allowed me to develop my skills so far, and the 5d has now allowed me to pursue it further.

Quite simply, I love photography. I love that I can get to a location, and sometimes be the only person within coo wee. The peacefulness it brings, and the self satisfaction when you know you have captured a nice image. This is why I love it.
