My "handle," petethepunk1 comes from the late 1960s, when I would request jazz on KWFM in the Twin Cities. Since there was a "Mark the Monk" who regularly called in, I decided, given my wee years, to be "Pete the Punk." I am no big fan of punk rock, though some of the punk bands are all right.

I have enough interests to be packed into several lifetimes. Surprisingly, photography is the last of these. Music, poetry, art, absurdist humor, archiving, spirituality, philosophical inquiry, the quiet battle within science concerning the true nature of quantum physics, all these are part of the whole embraced by me. I rather like the surrealist painters of the 20th century. Messiaen, Tielhard de Chardin, Aurobindo, and medieval music move me for some reason.

Okay, maybe photography is beginning to interest me.
