One fateful day I stumbled upon Rob's livejournal through a photography community. I was struck with the quality of his work, and drawn into the story he weaves with words and photographs. He soon became my favourite photoblogger, with colourful and diverse content that was presented in a way that makes you feel that you are a guest in his home, a part of his life. I have learned much from him, not just with regard to photography - about highs and lows, life and love. Of taking the time to notice the beauty around us, even that which is hidden from us. Rob has the ability to see an old barn and present it in an artful way. He documents his life, making us a witness to his life. A wonderfully warm and witty man who has touched many lives, and I hope continues to do so for many years to come :)

Bob has an intense passion for photography that captures the essence of life that surrounds us on so many levels. His images of the city truly reflect the intense contrast in that location: excitement vs bleakness, fast paced vs grittiness, opposite sides of city living which is amazing. The photos of the country are a colourful taste of slower living that portrays the honest people within the community from the roots up. Bob always keeps an eye open for interesting subjects whether it be a bright red barn, rolling hills, street people, wild animals, pets, or his home. He manages to find a balance in these images that he shoots which are humbling to view, they are the real thing and they speak volumes. It would be awesome to make a photo journal in book format one of these days.
