Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...or so they say.
You may think nature is beautiful: is it? Do we impose our perceptions of beauty upon the whole of nature; or even, have our species' ideas of beauty evolved to accomodate nature?
The living world: both the biotic and abiotic, and the systems which create a realitively stable planet are fantastic and fascinating. However, they are also extremely powerful and oblivious to we - the evolved apes.
Unfortunately, the other biotic elements have to share the same space with these (relatively) large brained primates who don't always/often make the right choices. (Shooting yourself in the foot is one thing; constantly shooting both of them, whilst being warned of the dangers is unforgivable).
But then, the conditions were right for the shaved apes to develop cameras and show other shaved apes what they see....whilst these things still exist.
And if I've not said it enough, it's always worth repeating....evolved.
