I have always enjoyed photography as a way to preserve days gone by.

A couple of years ago, I was introduced to flickr…and now I am taking pictures to share with people beyond my everyday world. It was uncomfortable at first, to open a window to the world around me, ~allowing people to view my photos. It has been an illuminating experience! It has opened me up to new understandings of the world around me.

I am a writer by nature...but enjoy seeing (hearing about) the world through other people's eyes--their 'photo voice'. The word 'exposure' has grown in meaning... flickr allows alot of people a unique way to have their own voice. It is thrilling to look at some of these photos. I enjoy the natural world most of all. I am starting to enjoy my own mistakes/and the good ideas more and so the natural world has grounded me. Having said that, I have to admit, I enjoy the creative mind of others and how it is expressed... sometimes I look at the creative ideas and the expressions in the photos I find on flickr...and just wonder at the creative spirit in people. I go back and forth...like a tree in the wind! :)

My own favorite photos in my photostream are of the trees and the wildflowers ... oh, and Paris...and my animals...and my sons...and my woods...and Texas... Well, I guess they are all my favorites. --even the random 'snap' to catch a moment that I want to remember. --hear me bend back and forth in the wind? That is the sound of me 'growing'. :)

I appreciate the opportunity to view the world through so many other eyes...
