After several years of looking at thousands of photographs on flickr I now know what I don't want to photograph. This gift is greater than it might first sound and I offer my thanks to those whose constructive comments on my work have helped me get to this point of development.

A camera doesn't see anything. It's the eye behind the camera and the mind behind the eye that do the business. One has to look before one sees. This much I have learned. I suppose things become even more interesting when one starts thinking before looking. The process is slow...and so it should be. However, digital cameras are fast and, like machine guns, they usually result in over-kill.

My ever growing list of things I don't want to photograph will, I trust, help me create more interesting images.

So, I'm probably not a photographer at all. For me my camera is beginning to look more and more like a paint brush

I live, contentedly, (so long as I don't read the news) in a small pueblo in rural North East Spain.
