I once read in someone else's profile that the trick to taking extraordinary photographs is not to take pictures of extraordinary things but to take pictures of ordinary things and make them look extraordinary. I like that sentiment. I also like that I got to use "extraordinary" three times in the same sentence.
It is my goal to learn how to take a picture so good that an image of a rose brings to mind its scent; an image of a wave, the roar of its crash; an image of the moon, the sound of an owl calling or a chorus of frogs.
My passion is Nature.
The animals in my photographs are all wild, with the exception of my pet dogs and cats. The photographs are not posed or "nature fakes"; although I sometimes move an animal into a position with better light, always within a few feet of where I found it.
My main interests are herpetology, ecology, and conservation biology.
I am deeply in love with Skye McIntyre, an amazing woman who has brought love, hope, and renewed meaning into my life.
