Hello. My name is Rick Pearson, and I live in Austin, Texas. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I have been doing wildlife, science fiction, and visionary art under the company name of Leviathan Productions for over 20 years. The purpose of my work has always been to celebrate the beauty of nature, and the wonders of the Universe, and thereby to teach others about our fragile planet and hopefully to create the desire to learn more about it, and to protect it. Many of the images that you see here were derived from over 30 years of meticulous research into the anatomy and behavior of marine mammals; especially the sperm whale.

I've recently started a partnership with The Ocean Alliance, which is the ocean research and conservation organization founded by renowned cetacean biologist Dr. Roger Payne. The Ocean Alliance owns the research vessel Odyssey, which recently completed a 5 year, around-the-world voyage to study sperm whales and the effects of pollution on marine life. PBS has hosted a fascinating interactive web site about her voyage, and you can see it at www.pbs.org/odyssey/ . I'm working on some exclusive new designs for The Ocean Alliance, and I'll post them here as they become available. In the meantime, please visit their web site at www.oceanalliance.org/ , and support this very worthwhile organization. Thank you.

During 2004-2005, I started a new phase of my art business, by doing my first murals, at a local public swimming pool. Starting in the fall of 2005, I decided to start volunteering to paint healing murals for children with various types of illnesses, and posted my name and web site address on the web site for an organization called "Artists Helping Children"; go to www.artistshelpingchildren.org/ to find out more about this wonderful organization, and the healing work that they do. As a result of that posting, in early 2006, I had the chance to paint a brand new mural for a family in nearby Killeen, Texas, who has an 18 year old son who has a terminal illness. I am now in the process of setting up a non-profit organization, called "A Brush With Healing", that will provide similar murals, for free, for any child that has a serious illness, and for local hospitals, clinics, homeless shelters, etc., anyplace where healing is needed.

You can purchase many of the displayed images, printed on a variety of products, from T-shirts to mouse pads to fine art prints and stickers, at my new Cafe Press Store. Go to www.cafepress.com/leviathan53 to view my store and to make a purchase.

So thanks for stopping by; stay a little while, take a look around at my work, and I hope that you like what you see.
