I've been a photographer since age 14, when a former Saturday Evening Post photographer gave me his old Leitz enlarger and I set up my first darkroom in the basement. Soon after that, my father gave me my first SLR: a Sears-Roebuck camera! It said SEARS above the lens. My roommates made fun of it. But it had a very sharp lens and took some really good photos!

After a childhood characterized by an obsession with wild animals, I got several degrees in Zoology ... and in between got a nursing degree to earn an income! I worked mainly in Psychiatry, and loved it.

A few years ago, I became interested in malacology and decided to write a book on Florida seashells: Bivalve Seashells of Florida.

Now semi-retired, I am starting to spend more time doing photography. Now shooting with Nikons. A D850, a Z5, and a Coolpix 900.
