Programmer and really enthusiastic (albeit really amateur) photographer. :) I've been at it a little over a year now, off and on, and I hope it's getting better. At least I know a little bit more about composition then I used to. :)
About 2/3 of the photos on here are straight from the camera, and the other 1/3 are played with in The GIMP, often quite extensively, as I like to experiment. Everything that's been played with is in the "Experimental Stuff" collection.
If I recently faved one or more of your photos without commenting, I'm sorry about the "not commenting" part. I just... can't... comment on all of the exceptional photos/manips/art out there; it's not technically possible. Especially not with all the time it takes for me (especially) to write a single thoughtful comment (often, I will agonize over leaving a comment for over ten minutes). Plus, the truth is, I just don't know enough about photography to write true feedback most of the time. But if I faved it, then that means that there was something (I probably couldn't explain if I tried) that I really, really liked about it, and I would like to rediscover it someday. :)
If you're just curious about how I find so many great photos to fave, I usually use Flickriver, which enables this great technique for quickly finding great photos. I start by viewing my own favorites in random order, pick the first two or three random photos which happen to pop up, and look at those people's photostreams (both the most interesting, and then a few random photos). Then I look at *their* favorites. So many exceptional images out there - thank you all for providing so much beauty and learning! :)
