Ibrahim Shalaby is an Egyptian visual artist, researcher, and founder of Post-Perception (ما بعد الإدراك), a contemporary art movement addressing the crisis of sensory trust caused by AI-generated images, deepfakes, and digital simulation. His practice spans painting, collage, photography, performance, installation, and video art over more than three decades. He has officially represented Egypt in Spain, Venezuela, Qatar, and Iraq; his installation Isolation was selected for the Egypt Pavilion at the Malta Biennale 2026. His work has been the subject of a PhD dissertation, multiple critical studies, and documentation by the Serbian Ministry of Culture. He is the author of the six volume Box of Colors series (autobiography and the theoretical foundation of Post Perception), as well as encyclopedias and educational books on art and design. The movement introduces the concept of perceptual immunity – training consciousness to resist digital deception – through its nine principles and the visual symbol The Throne.
