Dalla camera oscura al digitale

Ho iniziato a fotografare molti anni fa, prima con una Zorki e poi con una Zenit. Passavo ore in un bagno trasformato in camera oscura, tra spirali, sviluppi, fissaggi e ingranditore. Tutto rigorosamente in bianco e nero.

Poi è arrivato il digitale. Sono cambiate le macchine, gli strumenti e il modo di lavorare, ma non il mio modo di guardare.

Il bianco e nero resta il mio primo amore, ma anche nel colore cerco rapporti forti: contrasti cromatici decisi, forme, linee e composizioni capaci di dare ordine alla complessità di ciò che vedo.

From the Darkroom to Digital

I began taking photographs many years ago, first with a Zorki and later with a Zenit. I spent countless hours in a bathroom converted into a darkroom, surrounded by developing tanks, chemicals and an enlarger. Everything was strictly black and white.

Then digital photography arrived. Cameras, tools and working methods changed, but my way of looking at the world did not.

Black and white remains my first love, but when I work in colour I still look for strong visual relationships: bold chromatic contrasts, shapes, lines and compositions capable of bringing order to the complexity of what I see.
