crossed paths with someone who carried a camera wherever she went -- at a time in my life when i was searching for more forms of self expression -- photography reminds me of my father and the weekend trips we used to take -- up and down the coast of california -- over and under its mountains and redwoods -- so here i am with a dinky digital -- in a new city on the other side of the country -- trying to catch a vibe -- trying to get better at something -- walking the same streets a little slower than i used to -- driving the same roads a little further than i used to -- keeping one eye on getting by -- and the other on the beauty and intrigue -- that surrounds us constantly -- something i had almost forgotten
