About me & photography: I like to take photos as a hobby and sometimes do editorial photography for my career in the news industry. (Although I am officially a graphic designer/layout artist!)

I'm into vintage tech and am interested mainly in 35mm film photography, though a medium or large format press camera would be really cool to try one day!

I love the balance of artistic creativity when taking a photo, and the precision and chemistry needed to develop film and make darkroom prints. It's a satisfying whole brain process. Huge disliker of replacing light seals, though. But that light do gotta be sealed.

I have a soft spot for Canon SLR cameras of the 70s/80s. I'm into the robust, unpretentious, yet slightly futuristic Japanese design & engineering of that era. Plus FD lenses are affordable and adapt really well to my Sony mirrorless camera. Probably like many people my age, most of the photos from my childhood were taken with an AE-1, which I still have today, working perfectly even though I'm the third generation in my family to use it. Yes, the light seals need replacing... I will get around to it... someday. :) It lasted this long, it will survive!

My favourite subjects are things that are overlooked/typically un-noticed in everyday life, and scenes without a sense of time or location.

And I WILL make a zine someday!! I actually have THREE zines planned so far!
