For most of my life, I have been a dancer. Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz...even a little ballroom. I have taught, performed, and choreographed. I LOVE dance and music. However, after a 2nd round with breast cancer 2 years ago...chemo got the best of my hip - I had to have a total hip replacement. It hasn't slowed me down too much...I still teach...but cannot move the way I used to anymore. So I had to find a new creative outlet. I asked my family to get me a starter camera - they did - Coolpix L830. It is between a point and shoot and an advanced compact. Has a lot of zoom and a lot of cool functions that make for fun play. I have found this to be very therapeutic for my soul...When I am taking photos, I slow down, focus on the here and now, and try to find an interesting angle in which to view my subject. Loved finding reflections (must be the dancer in me), nature in all its splendor...close up on little creatures and plants, and movement - still attracted to movement. Have so much learn, but enjoy this new journey!
