My Name is Richard Grannis and I have been a student of photography for over 50 years.

My great uncle was LeRoy Grannis who was a famous surf photographer for many years and produced a number of surf related photography books as well as publishing surfer magazines.

I had the great honor of being able to go out with him on occasion to various surfing events in Southern California as I was growing up and it was seeing him create images which was the

spark that allowed me to not only appreciate photography but to want to also create.
