Originally from London but now living near Kilmarnock in Scotland, I'm a 70 year old retired Police Sergeant. I've been seriously into photography for about 50 years originally with an Olympus OM2n in the '70s but more recently with a Nikon D100 in the early 2000's and then a Nikon D2X. I've not done much between 2018 - 2025 as my wife was ill and I didn't have much time but she passed away in 2025 and I have more time now.

I currently use a Nikon Z9. I loved the D2X but found the ISO range and APS-C sensor a bit limiting, not to mention the fact that it sounded like a sawn-off shotgun being cocked when you pressed the shutter-release LOL. I have a number of Nikkor lenses for my Z9, including

Z 14-24mm f2.8 S,

Z 24-120mm f4 S.

Z 35mm f1.2 S,

Z MC 105mm f2.8 VR S

Z 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 S.

Z 135mm f1.8 S Plena,

Z 600mm f4 TC VR S.

Z 2.0 Teleconverter

I also have a

7Artisans Z-mount 10mm f2.8 fisheye

Although I take all sorts of images I am mostly interested in Landscapes, especially long exposures involving water, Wildlife, and Street Photography. I particularly love photographing the west coast of Scotland, particularly Wester Ross and the misty Isle of Skye, but also love the Lake District. I am planning a bucket-list trip to the Rockies in Canada some time soon, but that may have to wait until at least 2027.
