I am an American citizen retired in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic. Decades ago I "cut my teeth" on a Pentax K-1000 34 mm camera, took a B&W photography class, studied photography as art, buying and viewing works of major photographers.
In fact, my photography class was at Los Angeles City College. One evening the intstructor when to the locked vault and brought out original prints of Ansel Adams . . .
As an amateur photographer, I am now transitioning from the analog to the digital world. I purchased a used body of Fuji X-T2, a normal and a wide-angle lens. I have spent hours doing internal configuration and external "hard" configuration and I'm getting ready to up my game.
My quote: "Subject is more important than camera."
Unfortunately, petty crime, assault and robbery, is VERY HIGH in this country. Even with my cheap Kodak, it could be dangerous taking it out in most places. I have to be very careful where I shoot and that is a limiting factor.
