UNOPS projects in Uzbekistan:
COVID-19 Emergency Response (2022-2026): UNOPS supports the Government of Uzbekistan in enhancing the country’s resilience to COVID-19 pandemic and future epidemics by upgrading over 150 existing laboratory and treatment facilities of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Committee (SES) across 13 regions. This includes infrastructure assessment and works, procurement of diagnostic equipment and supplies, establishing an ICT-based national surveillance and monitoring system for epidemiology, and expanding the treatment capacity.
Support to development of Oncology Services (2022-2026): UNOPS is supporting the Ministry of Health in procuring and delivering highly specialized medical, diagnostic, radiological and ICT equipment, to improve access and quality oncological healthcare services for local communities in 14 regional locations across Uzbekistan.
Delivering Infrastructure Design for Hospitals in Kashkadarya (2024-2025): To support the Government’s ambitious healthcare reform agenda in providing improved access to quality healthcare to the people of Uzbekistan, UNOPS designs two new hospitals in Karshi and Beshkent cities of the Kashkadarya region.
