Most of my photographs are made at my three-acre rural habitat, just west of Lawrence, Kansas. The land is largely wooded, but there are several sunny areas for growing native plants. The winters here are cold but vary a great deal from year to year. The summers are hot and humid, with very little rain during July and August. I have recorded nearly 70 species here at my home habitat over the past 10+ years.
