I am an amateur photographer trying to find my place in this space. I do not have a preferred style, but rather a desire to become well versed in a variety of photography categories that interest me. Although I prefer some shots in color, I always find myself leaning towards black and white. I often find color to cause unnecessary noise within an image. Converting an image to black and white can reveal unexpected details, emphasize shadows, and change focal points. The narrative of a photograph can completely change going from color to black and white, and leave a lot for the viewers imagination. My goal is to keep learning the capabilities of my camera and myself in hopes to give others the same “feeling” I get when viewing photos.
