My big love in life is wildlife & nature. ALL wildlife & nature, though I’m mainly a birder and very much into butterflies.

I never go out without my camera and whilst I will shoot from hides (on a reserve or paid) I tend to prefer photographing whatever I find of interest on the day. For that reason, I prefer to have my camera on a sling, ready for instant action.

I also enjoy trying to capture the aurora and will try my hand at landscapes occasionally, but I’m far from accomplished in those fields.

I’m retired and now live in Dorset, with my partner, Sarah and have a wealth of beautiful and wonderful sites that I can reach with ease.

We also love going on wildlife trips overseas, so no doubt I will be posting some photos taken on such trips.

I joined Flickr in January 2025 and was very pleased to win in the Flickr 21st Birthday competition, with my Maybug photo (in the "Weirdness" category) posted here on 25th February 2025. "Pro" for a year was the prize, so I'll be posting more photos now.
