Photography is a sort of magic powered by technology. It started for me as a magical thrill of capturing a moment in time for myself and my loved ones (and for eternity!). It has since become a medium for artistic expression and an opportunity to share something you see, how you see it, and the learnings you acquire along the way, with people far beyond your immediate circle.

In the last couple of years, I have gotten into shooting with different (primarily vintage, and now not only "taking") lenses. Experiencing legacy optics has significantly shifted my perception of what makes a good photograph. I learned that sharpness is not everything, that what I like in paintings I tend to like in photographs (forms and colors), and that composition is perhaps the most important aspect (after all, it is about capturing the moment). Shooting against the light and getting flares, cropping or orienting an image "against the rules" can be not only fun but also result in original and rewarding images. I have little time to venture too much into photography, but as much as I can, I do. Through taking more pictures, I believe I am becoming a better "magician".
