The water-rich planet of Doniphon was a thriving place during the Republic era, known for its fishing, crabs and fertile soils ideal for farming. The Republic maintained intensive trade relations with the farmers, who gained wealth and prestige as a result. Individual landowners took advantage of this economic boom to further expand their influence.

Everything changed with the proclamation of the new galactic empire. The Emperor cancelled the trade contracts and installed a new government, which was supported by a Moff. From then on, the farmers and crab fishermen suffered under the harsh rule of the Empire. Decades of mismanagement led to the once so rich planet becoming increasingly desolate.

During the Imperial period, Doniphon became the scene of fierce fighting as one of the planets caught up in the Imperial campaign known as the Kwymar Suppressions. Along with several neighbouring planets in the Kwymar sector, Doniphon was the scene of violent clashes between local rebels and Imperial forces led by the ambitious young Stormtrooper commander Beilert Valance. During the assault on Doniphon, Valance and his unit cleared a rebel outpost near the Pyrand River in brutal hand-to-hand combat. The next day, they continued their advance against fighters entrenched in the Selpathian Hills. Despite heavy Imperial jamming of communications, the rebels managed to send a message to their allies in the city of Damatua, who then dispatched starfighters to attack Valance's platoon. Although the Selpathian rebels were soon eliminated, the unit suffered 21 casualties, including Valance himself, who was severely wounded. These events marked the end of Valance's service with the Empire, as he was transferred to Telos IV and rebuilt with cybernetic parts due to his injuries.

In the midst of these conflicts, the most powerful landowners of Doniphon joined forces and formed the so-called Conglomerates of Doniphon. Their aim was to gain power and influence through this alliance and secure control of the region. The brutal civil war between the Conglomerates and the remaining imperial warlords took a heavy toll on the population. The decisive turning point came when the smuggler Captain Krill entered the scene. Krill managed to capture an abandoned Old Republic supply cruiser. He skilfully sold the weapons and ammunition on board to the Conglomerate army, which gained strength and was finally able to defeat the weakened Empire.

After the Moff had escaped, Captain Krill assembled a crew consisting mainly of veterans of the Liberation Army. These men and women, scarred by the fierce battles for their home planet, were no longer prepared to return to their old lives as farmers or fishermen. They had only one goal: to use the turmoil of the founding of the new republic to become rich and lead a better life.

Under the flag of Captain Krill, the crew now roam the galaxy as pirates. Their dream is to enjoy a life of freedom with booty and never again experience oppression.
