I am a retired academic teacher, researcher, and administrator. I have always loved birds and birding but while working did not have the time to be a birder. Now that I am retired, I am an avid birder and bird photographer. While birding I use my camera in numerous ways: 1) to help identify and document birds; 2) to photograph "portraits" of birds which illustrates them and their characteristics; and 3) to photograph birds interacting with their natural environment. I have just joined Flickr and it will take me a while to input the 328 different species I have photographed and have them organized into species and different activities.
