Hi I’m Felicity also known as Flick, I use They/Them pronouns.

I’m an art student currently in college and my skills focus around Fine Art. More specifically abstract, illustration, collage, mark making, 3D and printmaking.

I am inspired by a lot of things for my artwork, most of it comes from my imagination and in the moment ideas, however I get a lot of ideas from films, everyday life and other artists. One of my favourite artists has to be Jean-Michel Basquiat. I love his use of colour, texture and tone as he conveys a vibrant yet meaningful piece. His work really speaks to me with his sense of freedom with self expression and child like nature to creating art. It is something I have been tapping into to lately, going back to where my art interest came from in childhood and then creating with the intent for imperfections.

That’s why I believe art is a journey one of self discovery and also documenting your own personal experiences along with whatever someone may feel like in that moment. I feel for me i will always be learning with art and I’m always excited to try new and different things with it. In the future with my art I am looking at expanding my scale and amount of work I can produce in a set amount of time. I also would like to work with installations and see what kinds of things I could come up with for that.

Some of my other interests are skateboarding, photography, writing stories and poetry and listening to music. In my free time I experiment with other kinds of media I’m not familiar with, such as digital drawing, puppet making, animation and face paint. With these experimentations I sometimes bring my newly required skills into my college work if I feel it relates to what I’m doing. I’d like my art to have meaning and spread awareness of important messages I share as well as the need for self-expression in art and embracing your art style.

I hope in the future that my art can reach people that can relate to it in their own way as well as my intended meaning. I think art should be open to all possibilities and meanings. I feel that’s an achievement as it should be conversational and there is no right or wrong when it comes to my artwork.
