Trying to put old physical family albums into some sort of order and create new, more logical, online albums. Long term project. The print and negative scanning and resultant file editing has been going on for many years now. Maybe getting there, now, though...

The pictures mainly cover the late 1940s through to 1980s but there are probably some earlier and some later. They are predominantly taken by family members on a variety of cameras through the years. Almost all, other than a handful of studio and function photographs were made with snapshot type cameras; Box Brownie, 127 cameras, Instamatic and 110 and disc types. The quality of these vary from fair to terrible and, of course, camera shake, bad focus, unsuitable lighting all play a part. It adds to the charm, at least for me who knows the subjects and the cameramen.

I have made edits to most of the scans. Over the years I've been doing this, my methodology changed from simple recording of the print or negative, to some reconstruction/recovery. I was going to leave them as they were at the scan stage but once I'd started removing physical dust, some blemishes, contrast adjustments to fading prints, etc...

Some have been worked more than others but an attempt to recover the original image without over-doing the process has been my goal.
