UK based. I'm generally barefoot during the warmer months, unless footwear is mandated or just sensible. I'm gradually desensitising myself to the strange, confused and occassionally disgusted looks I sometimes receive when I'm barefoot in public. However, my personal experience is that most people don't even notice, and those that do notice don't tend to cause me any issues.
