Mein Name ist Volker Käppel und ich wohne in Nordbayern. Durch die Polarlichter in unseren Breiten bin ich zur Hobbyfotografie gekommen und startete zunächst mit einer APS-C DSLR Kamera. Nach den ersten Polarlichtbildern habe ich mir zusätzlich eine gebrauchte d750 Vollformatkamera zugelegt, um das Rauschverhalten bei Nacht zu minimieren.

My name is Volker Käppel and I live in Northern Bavaria. The Northern Lights, which affected our latitudes, sparked my interest in photography as a hobby. I initially started with a APS-C DSLR camera. After taking my first photos of the Northern Lights, I also acquired a used full-frame camera to minimize noise at night.
