Hi, I'm Mio Yamamoto. ^_^
I'm a Tokyo-based photographer who captures the essence of everyday life through street photography. My journey with photography began during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Feeling anxious and uncertain during the pandemic at the age of 20, I turned to the streets, finding solace in capturing moments. Through the lens of my camera, I sought to document the world around me, and in doing so, I began to find a sense of purpose and belonging.
My photographs are a testament to the power of connection. They remind us of our shared humanity and the forgotten stories that lie within each individual. In a world increasingly driven by individualism, I believe photography has the potential to rekindle a sense of community.
I draw inspiration from the works of masters like Irving Penn, Hiroh Kikai, and Samuel Lintaro Hopf. Their dedication to capturing the essence of their subjects has deeply influenced my approach to photography.
Through my lens, I strive to create images that resonate with viewers more deeply. I invite you to join me on my journey as I explore the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
Thanks for coming to see it and reading all the way through. m(_ _)m
